Meals of Grace Mobile Soup Kitchen is a female-owned 501c3 organization that acts as a stopgap for people experiencing hunger in Chicago, IL and the surrounding suburbs. It was founded by a mother/daughter trio in 2021.
We provide freshly-prepared hot meals to people in low-income and underserved areas. Our meals consist of a protein entree, a vegetable, a healthy starch, and water. For many people, the meal we serve is the only meal of the day (in some cases, several days), whether the client lives in a dwelling or not.
We, along with an incredibly faithful, loving, and hard-working group of volunteers, prepare and distribute the meals every other Saturday. We're working to increase this cadence to weekly, and we need your help.
We serve:
Thousands of people in Chicago and its suburbs face food insecurity every day. Many live in food deserts with no access to fresh food. Others have to make hard choices on a daily basis: "Do I buy food or pay rent?" "Do I eat or pay for my medication?". Hundreds walk the streets each day looking for a meal, and these populations continue to grow. We work to put a dent in these numbers because eating is a basic human right.
Everyone deserves a hot meal.
